Eagle River Watershed Council is continuing its grant-supported efforts to mitigate the spread of tamarisk and other noxious plants near the confluence of the Eagle and Colorado Rivers on May 13 and 14, from 8am to 5pm both days.
With the collaboration of Eagle County, the Bureau of Land Management, Western Colorado Conservation Corps Womens Fire Crew, and volunteers, the work days will involve 1-2 days of arduous labor (chainsawing, chemical application, slash pile creation and more), in the project location, which is only accessible by raft.
Eagle River Watershed Council Projects Coordinator Anna Nakae welcomes those interested in volunteering (especially sawyers with their own equipment and with current S-212 certification) to email her at nakae@erwc.org to hear more about the project and to register. Registration is required and must be completed by May 6 to be eligible to participate.
