Time: The project will take place 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm

Location: Nottingham Park, Avon CO

Project Basics: We are seeking volunteers to help restore an already existing waterwise garden in Nottingham Park. The objective is to restore an already existing waterwise garden to health. It is currently overtaken by weeds and turf grass due to three years of neglect. By working with volunteers, Town of Avon, CSU Extension, and Beyond Lawn we look forward to restoring this beautiful garden. For the restoration afternoon, volunteers will be asked to weed, dig holes for plants, lay down weed barriers, and help place rocks for paths.

Important Notes: Please be prepared to work on your hands and knees in the dirt in both sun and light rain, as weather tends to fluctuate. We recommend wearing long pants, close-toed shoes, long sleeves, sunglasses, and a full-coverage hat. You may bring your own work gloves, however we will have extras of gloves and tools. Please bring a reusable water bottle. Light snacks, sunscreen, and water will be provided.
