The 30th Annual Eagle River Cleanup presented by Vail Resorts EpicPromise will take place September 7, 2024. Every year, hundreds of dedicated volunteers tackle the public banks of the Eagle River in teams. We rely on each team leader to serve as the point-person for each section of river. Among others, the roles of team leaders include recruiting volunteers for your team, sharing information (meeting time and place, waiver links, safety guidelines, etc.) with your team, and picking up safety vests and trash bags for your team.
Volunteer and team leader registration is required – learn more about how to volunteer below. We’re always looking for event sponsors for the cleanup and our mission-driven programs and events. If you’d like to support the work of the Eagle River Coalition, please reach out to development@eagleriverco.org.

Thank you for your interest in keeping the roadways of Eagle County clean for our wildlife, residents, visitors and to protect the quality of our rivers and streams.
We rely on team leaders to be the point of contact for each group of volunteers. Recruiting their volunteers, sharing logistics, ensuring waivers are submitted, and picking up bags and safety vests from the Eagle River Coalition are among some of the responsibilities of team leaders.
Please email cleanup@eagleriverco.org to let us know that you’d like to be a team leader for the 30th Annual Eagle River Cleanup on September 7, 2024. We will then work with you to find an open segment of streambank. It will then be your responsibility to review your stretch, taking note that you will only clean the public stretches of streambank.
Team leaders should plan to pick up their supplies on one of the following dates: at Vail Brewing Company in Eagle-Vail on Thursday, August 29 from 4-6 PM. The pickup at Moe’s Original BBQ in Eagle on August 22 has passed.
If you need to arrange for a pickup at our office at 461 Railroad Ave in Gypsum, please email cleanup@eagleriverco.org to ensure staff will be present when you arrive.
Interested in volunteering, but not quite ready to be a team leader? You can be a free-agent volunteer! Reach out to let us know by emailing cleanup@eagleriverco.org with the below information and we will do our best to connect you with a team leader for an existing segment.
Due to limited capacity, we are unable to guarantee volunteer placement, yet truly appreciate your interest in keeping our waterways healthy.
The 2024 Volunteer Thank You BBQ will celebrate ALL who volunteered with Eagle River Coalition in its 2024 season. Whether you participated in a planting day, restoration event, the highway cleanup, or something else, you are invited – please join us for lunch, live music, beverages, and prize drawings! REMINDER: If you volunteered in the 2024 Eagle River Cleanup, your shirt will be available at the Volunteer BBQ and will be provided to Eagle River Cleanup volunteers and team leaders in a first-come, first-served fashion.
The event will take place from Noon to 3 pm at The Broken Arrow Cafe in Arrowhead, at 142 Arrowhead Cir, Edwards. Lunch and beverages will be provided. We’re sorry, but no dogs allowed at this event. Please bring a reusable water bottle. PLEASE CARPOOL; parking is extremely limited.
To say THANK YOU to everyone who works with us to protect the amazing rivers and streams in this valley.
This event is possible thanks to the support of all 2024 Eagle River Cleanup and Volunteer Thank You BBQ sponsors. Many thanks.
