Whether you’ve been considering getting a rain barrel for years or are just hearing about the opportunity for the first time, this is a great time to make your investment! Not only will you save on the cost of water for watering your trees and flowers, but you’ll be reducing how much treated water you use outdoors – it’s a win-win! This rain barrel sale is part of the Beyond Lawn Program in partnership with Eagle County Conservation District and CSU Extension. Learn more about the Beyond Lawn Program.
How to Purchase Your Rain Barrel:
- Review the requirements listed on this page to confirm that you can have a rain barrel at your residence.
- Purchase your rain barrel – they are available now, and you’ll get the barrel and lid, a spigot for the barrel, and instructions on the set-up process.
- Come to one of the two pick-up dates (details below) with a vehicle large enough to transport your 55-gallon barrel.There are two pick-up dates at Moes Original BBQ in Eagle (630 Grand Avenue, Eagle):
- Tuesday, June 10 from 4:00 – 6:30 PM
- Monday, June 23 from 4:00 – 6:30 PM
- Set up your rain barrel following the instructions included during pick-up.
Please Review Prior to Purchasing Your Rain Barrel:
Please read below to see if a rain barrel is allowable by Colorado law prior to purchasing your rain barrel.
- Rain barrels are only allowed at residential units of four units or less. If you live in a complex with more than 4 units, you cannot have a rain barrel.
- Individual households are only allowed to have up to two rain barrels collectively storing no more than 110 gallons of water. This is important, because the rain barrels available through this program are 55 gallons. If you already have a rain barrel, please make sure it is no more than 55 gallons.
