The Watershed Council is excited to organize the 23rd Annual Community Highway Pride Cleanup happening Saturday May 6, 2023.
Every year, hundreds of dedicated volunteers participate in the county-wide Community Pride Highway Cleanup.
From its inception in the early 2000’s, in which nearly 50 tons of trash had accumulated and was removed, great strides have been made to reduce littering, and now an average of 10-15 tons of debris is removed annually.

How it works:
Team Leaders
We rely on team leaders to be the point of contact for each team. Recruiting their volunteers, sharing logistics, ensuring waivers are submitted, and picking up bags and safety vests from the Watershed Council are among some of the responsibilities of team leaders.

Interested in volunteering, but not quite ready to be a team leader? Reach out to let us know by emailing cleanup@erwc.org with the below information and we will do our best to connect you with a team leader for an existing segment.
- The names of those interested in volunteering (please note, volunteers must be 14 or older).

- We do our best to connect “free agent” volunteers with team leaders near their geographical preference area. Please select one or more of the following:
- Red Cliff/Minturn/Vail
- Eagle-Vail/Avon/Edwards
- Wolcott/Red Canyon/Eagle
- Gypsum/Dotsero/CO River Road
- No geographical preference
Due to limited staff capacity, we are unable to guarantee volunteer placement, yet truly appreciate your interest in keeping our waterways healthy.
