
Project Description:
Eagle River Coalition and Eagle County Open Space are seeking volunteers to help enhance riparian habitat by planting willows and cottonwoods along Brush Creek on the Brush Creek Valley Ranch & Open Space property in Eagle, CO. The goal of the project is to restore native riparian vegetation and prevent future degradation. This is part of a larger stream restoration project at Brush Creek Valley Ranch & Open Space.
This project will take place Saturday, April 20 & Sunday April 21 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.
Volunteers should expect to work in areas with unstable footing and be prepared to get wet and work in variable weather conditions.
What to bring:
- Sturdy closed toed shoes (no sandals or flip flops)
- Gloves – there will be gloves provided as well, but if you have ones you like feel free to bring them
- Long sleeves & long pants
- Sun Protection – optional but recommended, sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses
- Warm Layer – bring layers to be prepared for changing weather conditions
- Water – there will be a water cooler to refill bottles
- Snacks – some snacks will be provided but feel free to bring your favorite snacks too
- A good attitude & willingness to work hard!
How to volunteer:
All volunteers must register ahead of time and you will be asked to complete a waiver at time of registration. Information about where to meet will be sent to the email address you provide. Registration will close Friday, April 19.
